Jan \nAbout the Session:\nJoin us for the Education Committee’s Coffee Hour session on “Establishing Your Lab as a New PI”\, featuring Dr. Taha Jan (Vanderbilt University) and Dr. Jinkyung Kim (Washington University\, St. Louis). Starting your own lab as a new PI is challenging\, yet a rewarding and exciting opportunity to begin a scientific career as an independent investigator in academia. This session will explore the challenges of starting your own lab (particularly in the first six months)\, including promoting yourself within the institution to strategic planning for setting up the lab space\, negotiating and ordering equipment\, and\, most importantly\, hiring team members\, which contributes greatly to the success of a lab group. Our guest speakers will also discuss time management\, including distributing one’s time for teaching and research while maintaining a good work-life balance and productivity. \nCLICK here to learn more about the panelists \nCLICK here to RSVP!
