DESCRIPTION:1st Call for Papers: 17th International Symposium on Computer Music Multidisciplinary Research (CMMR 2025)\nCMMR 2025 “Sound\, Music: Space\, Place”\, UCL East (London\, UK)\, 3 - 7 November 2025    \nThe 17th International Symposium on Computer Music Multidisciplinary Research (CMMR) will be held at University College London (UCL) in East London (United Kingdom)\, 3 - 7 November 2025. \nCMMR 2025 invites contributions related to all aspects of multidisciplinary fields and approaches\, regarding sound\, music and computers. In particular\, we welcome submissions matching this year’s topic “Sound\, Music: Space\, Place”. \nThe conference will be hosted by the world-leading departments of Anthropology (within the forward-thinking School for the Creative & Cultural Industries) and the Bartlett School of Architecture. As such\, contributions centring on practices of culture (those of human as well as other living beings\, including ‘musical’\, acoustic and behavioural aspects of animals) and spatial practices\, including architecture\, are very welcome. \nCMMR is an open-minded symposium that provides an opportunity to exchange ideas\, opinions\, and findings for everyone engaged in sound\, music\, and computers. We warmly welcome submissions from researchers and practitioners from academia and the industry\, and others with an interest in related topics. CMMR is an in-person conference. All presenters are required to participate in the conference and present their works on site. \nCMMR 2025 will feature a diverse range of activities across the following tracks: papers\, demos\, music and installations\, tutorials\, and workshops. \nCall for Papers    \nThe conference accepts short papers of 8 pages to present work-in-progress and long papers of 12 pages to present a more substantial contribution to the field (Springer LNCS single-column format). \nPapers must be submitted as PDF files using EasyChair. All papers will be peer-reviewed by at least two experts in the field to ensure quality and suitability. Accepted papers will be presented in the conference programme and proceedings in open access (OA) format. \nThe Scientific Program Committee will determine the presentation format (oral/poster) of each accepted paper based on the reviewers’ recommendations. SUMMARY:Auditory Science Meeting (ASM) 2025
DESCRIPTION:September 4-5\, 2025. This meeting has previously gone by several other names: ‘Basic Auditory Science (BAS)’\, ‘Ear & Hear’\, and more. \nASM2025 (meeting website) will take place at Nottingham Trent University (UK) and will be organised by the NTU Hearing Research group and the University of Nottingham Hearing Sciences.  Registration will include lunch\, refreshments\, and a conference dinner. We are currently working to ensure that these costs are kept as low as possible. You will have to organise your own accommodation\, but this is plentiful as the meeting is to be held in the heart of the city of Nottingham. \nResearch topics to include but not be limited by the following: \n\nHearing loss and hearing-assistive technologies\nPhysiology of hearing\nAuditory cortex\nPsychophysics\nSpatial hearing and immersive audio\nComputational Audiology\nRehabilitation and training for improving hearing\nCognitive aspects of hearing\nDevelopment of hearing\nAge-related hearing decline\nElectrophysiology\, neuroimaging and objective measures (M/EEG\, fNIRS\, fMRI\, eCAPs etc.)\nSpeech perception\nLanguage processing\n\nAbstract submission and registration will open on 28th April\, and the deadline for both is 27th June. We invite scientific contributions from across the fields of auditory and audiological research. \nISAAR 2025 will take place August 20-22\, 2025\, in Nyborg\, Denmark\, and will feature four overarching themes with the following invited speakers: \n\nThe auditory brain\nEd Bartlett\, Marc Schönwiesner\, Anne-Lise Giraud\, Giovanni Di Liberto\nMultisensory perception and communication in real-world environments\nJanina Fels\, Stephanie Lovich\, Christopher Davis\, Ivana Konvalinka\nComputational audiology\, AI and auditory profiling\nNicholas Lesicka\, Mareike Buhl\, Jenelle Feather\, Tobias Goehring\nNovel hearing technologies and compensation strategies\nVarsha Rallapalli\, Zheng-Hua Tan\, Richard Hendriks\, Ina Kodrasi \n\nWe are also delighted to announce a keynote lecture by Jessica Monaghan. \nIn addition to the main themes\, we welcome contributions on a broad range of topics\, including perceptual and physiological measures of auditory function\, measures of hearing loss\, auditory modeling\, hearing-instrument signal processing\, aided outcome measures\, multi-sensory speech perception\, communication in complex environments\, advances in neurotechnology\, and cognitive auditory neuroscience. DESCRIPTION:** Call for Abstracts ** \n-- Opens: July 15\, 2025 -- Closes: September 14\, 2025 -- \nThe 24th annual Auditory Perception\, Cognition\, and Action Meeting (APCAM) will occur on Thursday\, November 20\, 2025. We would like to invite you to contribute your work on any aspect of auditory science to APCAM 2025\, which will occur in Denver\, Colorado (USA) at the same venue as and immediately before the Annual Meeting of the Psychonomic Society. \nThe goal of APCAM is to bring together researchers from different perspectives to present focused research on auditory cognition\, perception\, and aurally guided action. To support this\, APCAM’s Organizing Committee welcomes submissions on a wide variety of empirical\, theoretical\, and methodological topics in auditory science\, including but not limited to: \n- Auditory memory and imagery\n- Auditory scene analysis; object\, event\, and pattern perception\n- Aurally guided action and navigation\n- Comparative auditory processing\n- Cross-modal correspondences and multisensory integration\n- Healthy vs. disordered hearing and hearing loss\n- Language learning\, processing\, and development\n- Sound localization\, source identification\, and motion perception\n- Music perception\, cognition\, and performance\n- Pitch\, loudness\, and timbre perception\n- Speech perception and production\n- Temporal processing\, timing\, and attention \nSubmissions should include an abstract of 300 words or less\, the title of the presentation\, names and affiliations for all contributing authors as they should appear in the conference program\, e-mail contact information for the primary/submitting author\, and whether a spoken or poster presentation is preferred. The organizing committee will try to accommodate presentation preferences\, though it may not be possible to honor all preferences. If there are more accepted abstracts with a spoken presentation preference than available presentation slots\, preference will be given to presentations judged to represent the strongest contributions\, as well as to authors who did not deliver a spoken presentation at APCAM 2025. \nYou may submit only one presentation as first/presenting author\, but you can co-author as many presentations as you wish. Please note that submission of the same talk or the same poster to APCAM 2025 and to the Annual Meeting of the Psychonomic Society is not permitted. \nAbstract submission opens July 15\, 2025. All abstracts should be submitted online by following the “Submit an Abstract” link on the APCAM tab of the Auditory Perception and Cognition Society (APCS) website (https://apcsociety.org/apcam-submit.html). The deadline for abstract submission is September 14\, 2025. Authors will be notified about the status of their submission within approximately 3 weeks after the submission deadline. \nTo support the mission of APCAM\, APCS\, and the affiliate journal Auditory Perception & Cognition (AP&C)\, there is a registration fee for 40 USD for PhD professionals and 30 USD for graduate students (the registration fee is waived for undergraduate students). In addition to providing access to APCAM materials\, the registration fee includes a one-year membership to APCS\, an individual subscription to AP&C\, and reduced open-access publication fees for AP&C. DESCRIPTION:ISH 2025 will take place from June 1 to June 6\, 2025\, in Vienna\, Austria. It will take place at Hotel Schloss Wilhelminenberg\, a former grand imperial retreat with a spectacular view over Vienna. Participants will be accommodated on site in order to create an intimate atmosphere and stimulate close exchange of ideas. \nThe topic of ISH2025 will be: Advances in Auditory Physiology\, Perception\, and Cognition. \nISH meetings have a long tradition of bringing together researchers from different areas of hearing science\, including psychophysics\, physiology\, and auditory modeling. The ISH2025 will be open also to the emerging field of auditory cognitive neuroscience. Consistent with previous format\, we invite innovative unpublished contributions from any of these areas. Contributions will be considered for either oral or poster presentation. Besides established researchers\, we also encourage contributions from younger researchers (e.g.\, late PhD phase) for whom a reduced registration fee will be offered by means of studentships. \nDecisions on contributions will be based on extended abstracts (400 words). The number of accepted contributions (podium presentations and posters) will be limited to approximately 80. Most people can imagine hearing sounds that are not physically present\, such as a favourite piece of music\, the voice of a loved one\, or other sounds such as an ambulance siren in their mind’s ear. We can also imagine making sounds\, especially speech with the  inner voice in our head. \nThese familiar dimensions of everyday experience are a source of fascination for scientists who seek to understand their psychological significance and their basis in processes and structures of the brain. At the same time\, they are important for the creative arts and often play a key role in the work of writers\, musicians\, poets and other artists. Moreover\, recent research has highlighted the existence of dramatic variation between people (including scientists and artists!) in their experiences of auditory imagery and an inner voice. \nThe aim of The Mind’s Ear and the Inner Voice 2025 is to forge new insights and improved understanding of auditory imagery and its role in thinking\, memory and creativity by providing a forum for transdisciplinary exchange of ideas\, theories and research findings. We invite submissions to The Mind’s Ear and Inner Voice 2025 from scientists\, philosophers\, scholars in the humanities and from artists\, especially musicians\, poets and writers who share a fascination with the question of how we experience the sounds in our head.
