Now on the cusp of its 18th year, weekly episodes of \u201cThe Score\u201d are carried by 60 stations and reach an estimated 1 million listeners \u2013 not counting those online worldwide. With such an expansive audience, this distinctive show about music in the movies may be the most popular radio show ever produced in Portland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One reason for the success of \u201cThe Score\u201d is its exploration of wide-ranging themes. A sampling of recent programs includes seasonal topics such as the music that underscores the holidays (\u201cChristmas Through the Years\u201d and \u201cThanksgiving Stuffing\u201d), serious matters (\u201cThe Building Blocks of America: Immigrants\u201d), pure fantasy (\u201cDragons: Flights of Fancy\u201d), and science fiction (\u201cThey Came from Outer Space\u201d).
